Sorry this email has come a little late, and a pre warning- LONG EMAIL. I was recovering from the flight and jet lag which really made me feel quite tired. Don't worry, my MIOT family, I have not and will not forget you.

Hello Professor Mohandas, Mrs Malika Mohandas, Dr P Mohandas, and a big hello and hug to Prof George Chandy, Dr Arul Prakash, Prof Baskaran and their respective teams,


All you guys are famous as is MIOT International as that is all we have been raving about since we got back. Everyone has been asking how everything went and I cannot praise the doctors that dealt with me enough for not only making me better medically, but for making me better mentally and physically.

I still get a little scared when I am eating fruit, salad and other foods that have been forbidden to me for the past 3-4 years, but feel fantastic when I think how healthy I can eat now and not have to suffer the excruciating pain that I got so used to experiencing.

Mrs Malika Mohandas, thank you for visiting me so often especially when you have so much on your plate, but you never made us feel like you were short of time for us and sat down and spoke to us (with a smile) for as long as we needed. Also, it was really nice of Dr P Mohandas to take time out of his clinics to come and sit with us and have a lengthy chat about all things UK and India.

The cardiologist – Dr Rafi had a great chat with us as he has just gone back to India and Chennai and knew some of the doctors we had dealt with as he lived local to us and worked at the hospitals that I went through. Also, he was very knowledgeable about the NHS service and its good and bad aspects. It was nice to talk to him as he knew both sides of the coin quite recently and appreciated our decision.

I could go on for hours on each of the individual doctors we met and how polite, professional, caring and fantastic they were, but I don’t think any of you have that much time.

I just wanted to say a HUGE thank you and let you know that because of the way MIOT International works, it will always be our number one hospital for anyone anywhere who asks us where they can get the best treatment and care for any medical condition they may have (except Paeds, but hey, it won’t be long before Prof Mohandas and Mrs Mohandas get that building up and running too).

We have already told some relatives who are fighting a battle with cancer to go to MIOT where they have the Trubeam and the best care and equipment and doctors that can help them. They are already considering it for their son.

Here, too, we have friends who have said that they will come to visit us and wish to know all about the hospital (this is where the CD’s come into play), as the wife is experiencing similar pain to mine in her stomach and has been told that she has an intestine problem but that is all that they have been told. As you know, indians do not have a habit of questioning doctors or asking anything and say ‘ok’ to everything, hence coming out of a consultation not knowing any more than what they did when they went in.

Anyway, my lunch is ready, oh! please tell Benjamin in the kitchen that I have found the mangoes that he was so nicely cutting up for me and watermelons and I am having at least five fruits a day – unfortunately, the mangoes are not as sweet as the ones there but for the UK, they are good.

I will keep in touch so you are all stuck with me. Please let Deepa the physio know that I do the Dr B exercise and it works. Also I am doing the other exercises gently yet but will do more as I feel better. Let Dr Baskaran know that my wound has stopped oozing and I have a wound check up with the nurse at our GP practice next week. (That’s the NHS for you, you have to wait for an appointment then go).

I write to inform you that I arrive in Nigeria successfully and also to appreciate you and your entire staff for the wonderful care and love offered me during my stay in your hospital.

You people are indeed wonderful and great. Also I am very much thankful to one Mr John Garangdeng for all his help and commitment/ dedication to his duty to ensure that all was successful from my first day till finished. Sir may you please remember people like this in days of your promotion or favour. I must also thank all the attendance and all other staff who in one way or the other made life comfortable for me during this period.

Indeed, your hospital showed me the meaning of "The Language of Care", with everybody at my beck and call any time of day and night and with the many things provided at such a good cost.

I arrived very well and am now back in Rwanda, not yet beginning the process of seeking assistance from government to come back for operations but with intention to do it all in good time.

My special thanks to Prof. P.V.A. Mohandas for personally finding time to check on me many times and the Chairman, Mrs Mohandas, for the beautiful card: it has taken pride of place in my house!

I had received enthusiastic reports about you good people and your hospital from my sister Venny and many others but seeing is stronger believing. Hoping you will agree to open a branch in our humble country.

First of all, I would like to thank you and your staff for what you have done for the recovering the health of my wife, Josephine Nobana Batama.

I think you done the best for her to be taken in good condition for her hospitalization. I definitely appreciate that. I am sure to be able to recommend others Congolese friends which will need that kind of medical treatment. And myself I will be back for more medical control as the one I just went through for the last four days.

Concerning the checkup I did, I want to assure you that your Department in charge did everything to give me good service. One of his public relations did his best to assure to me an excellent service. I congratulated him for that and I think is one of the your staff which you will need for the improvement of your service mainly for most of foreigns who will be your best ambassador abroad for your good service.

I came to India to have knee replacement surgery, but after running all the medical tests, it was concluded by you that it was too risky based on my health condition. I wanted to extend my sincere thanks for the wonderful customer service my colleague Yvonne and I received on 26/04/14 during our health check up.

I normally get my health check up done at Apollo on a yearly basis and experience long wait. I had raised this concern with Pushpa while booking my appointment and Pushpa assured me that we will be given a better service at MIOT. Pushpa indeed went to the extra mile and made arrangements that we were looked after from the start till the end.

We were looked after by this young energetic Gopalakrishan who was excellent and navigated us efficiently with the entire process. He made our checks easier with quicker access and indeed it turned out to be a pleasant experience. Gopalakrishan was with us throughout and made sure we were ok.

In this current work environment customer service is often neglected and we as customers often forget to appreciate good service. It was nice to see these 2 young MIOT staff did their best to provide us with a wonderful service. I want to acknowledge their service and let MIOT management know that Pushpa and Gopalakrishan are a real asset to your team.

Once again my sincere thanks to both of them and please keep up the good service.

I would also like to thank MIOT for providing the women’s health check for Rs 2500 for Pinakathon runners which was a real bargain.
