Pulmonary fibrosis is a life-threatening condition that impairs the lung function. It causes lung scarring, thickens the lung tissues and also affects gas exchange in the air sacs. Breathing becomes difficult when the hard, stiff lung tissues don’t expand as well as they should. This results in a drop in oxygen supply to other organs, affecting their function.

If pulmonary fibrosis is left untreated for more than 3 months after recovering from COVID, it can cause significant & irreversible lung damage. But with timely medication & rehabilitation at the right centre, one can prevent the condition from becoming life-threatening.
Non-Lung Post-COVID Complications
  • Increased risk of stroke, heart attack and clots in blood vessels
  • COVID-related gastritis and liver impairment
  • Secondary bacterial / fungal infection due to COVID-related immunosuppression and steroid therapy
  • Onset of diabetes, epilepsy
  • Inflammation in the brain and spine
  • Psychological and mental problems
