Tamil Nadu Unlimited, a one-day summit organized by The Hindu in association with Guidance Tamil Nadu, took place in Chennai on December 12, 2023. The focal point of this summit was the discussion titled ‘Tourism Industry: The Growth Engine of Tamil Nadu.

During this panel discussion, Dr. Prithvi Mohandas, Managing Director of MIOT International, not only shed light on vital facts emphasizing the importance of medical tourism but also highlighted the significant need for more direct international flights to Tamil Nadu from underserved destinations. He suggested that the implementation of a designated immigration checkpoint at the airport for medical tourism flyers could reduce their waiting time. Furthermore, he emphasized that this enhancement would facilitate accessible, quality healthcare, potentially saving numerous lives through timely interventions.
