Past events at MIOT

As CHIME – Childrens Heart Internationale MIOT enters its 20th year, we look back on a journey shaped by compassion, commitment and the collective support of donors, caregivers, well-wishers and families. What began with the hope of helping one child access timely cardiac care has grown into a mission that has touched the lives of more than 1,300 children with congenital heart conditions.

Through CHIME, children in need have been able to access specialised cardiac care at the MIOT Centre for Children’s Cardiac Care, where experienced medical teams provide evaluation, treatment and comprehensive support for congenital heart conditions.

To mark this milestone, we share the story of CHIME’s first beneficiary. From a childhood shaped by a congenital heart condition to a life filled with possibilities, this journey reflects the lasting impact that timely cardiac care can make. It is also a reminder of how one beginning can grow into a much larger movement of care and support.

For nearly two decades, CHIME has helped children with congenital heart conditions access essential treatment and look forward to healthier futures. Every child supported represents more than a treatment milestone. It represents the opportunity to return to the everyday joys of childhood — learning, playing, growing, building confidence and pursuing dreams.

At the heart of this journey is the generosity of our donors and supporters. Their continued contributions have helped make specialised cardiac care accessible to children and families who may otherwise have found treatment beyond their reach. Alongside them, the dedication of doctors, nurses, caregivers and support teams has helped guide children and families through some of the most important moments of their lives.

As CHIME steps into its 20th year, we extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who has been part of this journey. Every contribution, every act of support and every expression of trust has helped shape the stories of children whose lives have been touched by CHIME.
The journey continues. There are more children to reach, more families to support and more little hearts waiting for the opportunity to heal, grow and dream. Together, CHIME and the MIOT Centre for Children’s Cardiac Care remain committed to helping more children access the care they need and move towards healthier, brighter futures.
