My father Mr. E. Munuswamy suffered a heart attack in the month of Mar’20. He got emergency care in one of the hospitals at Anna nagar. After the angiogram, we were not briefed or explained properly about his condition or his heart health status by that hospital. But we were instructed to admit him for bypass surgery (initially he was advised for angioplasty and then for surgery). We were in a confused state. Since the lockdown has started from Mar’20, we could only continue with his medication (surgery was not performed in that hospital) until June’20. Meanwhile 2nd lock down also started in Chennai.

We got stranded with no option for my father’s treatment. Meanwhile, we got information from one of my friend about MIOT hospital cardiology treatment. I could get an appointment in spite of complete lockdown in Chennai. Hospital has provided necessary document to apply for an E-pass (As we are staying at Tiruvallur). We could meet doctor Jaishankar on 25th June’20.He checked my father thoroughly with angiogram reports and explained the angiogram findings in detail. Doctor has advised to take Stress thallium test to analyse his condition further.

After conducting the test, he advised us to continue only with medication and not to go for any surgery or angioplasty with a clear explanation of the test report for us to understand properly. After meeting the doctor, my father’s confidence has also increased and he is continuing his medication with good health. Now he is leading his normal life after a heart attack.

One more thing to be specifically mentioned is about the care taken by MIOT hospital, as I already mentioned that we travel from Tiruvallur. Hospital staff and the Doctor himself waited (their lunch hour) to complete our test and consultation (so that we need not travel from that long distance again). Thanks to MIOT hospitals courtesy and care shown towards the patient.
