FRCS Exit Exam Course (Section 2) in General Surgery (Preparatory Course)

MIOT HOSPITALS BRINGS A GOLDEN OPPORTUNITY TO YOUR DOORSTEP

Dear Doctors,

As you will see from the email below issued by our President on Friday, now that the Government has gone into the DELAY stage. We are doing everything we can to reduce the impact of the COVID-19 virus. We are therefore sorry to inform you that as a result of this, the FRCS Preparation Course for Examinations in General Surgery scheduled during July 29th – 31st 2020 has been cancelled.

[“Dear Colleagues,
In light of the UK Government’s decision to move to the DELAY phase of their effort to reduce the impact of the COVID-19 virus on the population and the NHS, we have taken the decision to postpone all events, examinations and courses for the next few months from Monday 16th March 2020. This applies across the Colleges and includes all of the Faculties.

Our teams are working hard to reschedule all our Examinations to later in the year to reduce the impact on the career path of those at an early stage of the profession.

All Diploma Ceremonies will be postponed for the next few months. If you have already applied to attend you will be offered the opportunity to move to an alternative ceremony later in the year. We will make plans to hold additional Ceremonies to ensure that you do not have to wait too long once they have restarted. We will contact all of those affected to advise them on the options as soon as we know them.

All other educational courses, CPD and Events will be rescheduled for later in the year again when it is right to do so. We do have an excellent bank of Webinars to keep you going in the meantime. We will continue to develop these and to look for ways that we can support your career in these coming months.

All of our Committees and meetings will continue where necessary but by video conference. I am meeting regularly with the CMOs of England and Scotland and with the UK Government and I will continue to work with our sister Colleges to make sure that we keep you up to date with the current thinking. Please do check our website for the latest information. Our thoughts are with you and your families as you work hard to support and protect the population.”
